Help clients find your studio
Help someone arriving on your page understand whose work they're seeing, where you tattoo and how to start a conversation. Clear studio and artist pages give people that context before they enquire. Start with an honest description of your work rather than a list of search terms.
Prepare your public page
Complete studio setup, including business verification and publication. Keep your public studio name, location, bio, services and Instagram link accurate. Describe the work you do and where clients visit you in natural language.
Explain what makes your work distinctive: the styles you specialise in, the type of projects you enjoy and how clients start an enquiry. Avoid lists of repeated search terms or claims about reviews and awards you cannot support.
Use your public studio location for client visits. Legal correspondence details belong in business verification; they do not need to replace your studio’s public identity.
Give each artist an identity
Use a recognisable display name and page address, a useful bio, relevant styles and a portfolio of their own work. Make the artist profile public when it is ready. Private artist profiles are excluded from public discovery.
Add clear captions and image descriptions where those controls are available. Describe the work shown, rather than repeating the studio name in every image. Keep reference uploads and client conversations private.
Connect your existing presence
Link to your studio or artist page from your website, Instagram bio and other profiles you control. If you have an eligible Google Business Profile, keep its business name and real client-facing location consistent, and use your public page as the website link where appropriate.
Every active subscription includes a custom domain. Once it is verified and active on your plan, InkWell uses that address as the preferred search URL for your pages. The domain has its own robots file and sitemap at /sitemap.xml.
For a domain you own, verify it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, then submit its sitemap. You control those accounts. If you use an InkWell page address, InkWell includes eligible public studio and artist pages in platform discovery.
Understand search discovery
Public, active studios that pass publication checks appear in Find a tattoo studio. Public artist pages are linked from the studio and included in its sitemap. InkWell also adds structured business and artist information using details already visible on your pages.
Private previews, unpublished or unavailable studios, private artists and private client links are excluded. Pausing enquiries does not remove an otherwise public studio’s portfolio from discovery.
Search engines decide when to crawl, index and show a page. Publishing a page, submitting a sitemap or notifying a search engine does not guarantee a listing, ranking or AI recommendation.
Check your progress
Open your public studio and artist pages while signed out on a phone. Check the names, location, portfolio and enquiry links. Follow the page from your external profiles to confirm people reach the address you intend.
For a custom domain, use Search Console to inspect the URL and review search impressions and clicks. Check enquiries in Studio alongside search traffic when deciding which content helps people get in touch.
If a page is missing from public discovery, first check its publication status, business verification, active subscription, artist capacity and artist visibility. All plans include custom domains. Contact Support with the public page address if the issue remains.
