Availability overrides
Concept
Availability overrides let you change your schedule for specific dates without affecting your regular weekly availability.
By default, your public page shows your standard weekly hours. Overrides let you block specific dates, change hours for a particular day, or add extra availability for a one-off.
This is useful for holidays, conventions, guest spots, or any day that differs from your usual schedule.
Why it matters
Overrides help you keep your schedule accurate without constantly editing your weekly availability.
- You can block holiday dates without changing your regular hours.
- You can add extra availability for conventions or busy periods.
- Clients see accurate availability without you managing it day by day.
- You avoid accidentally accepting bookings on days you're away.
For artists who balance regular studio days with occasional guest spots or events, overrides keep things manageable.
How to configure it
- Go to
Dashboard -> Settings -> Availability. - Select Add override for the target date.
- Choose the override type:
- Blocked — no bookings accepted on this date.
- Custom hours — different working hours from your normal schedule.
- Extra availability — additional hours beyond your usual schedule.
- Confirm the date range and any details.
- Save and return to your availability view.
Use overrides for exceptions. If your schedule permanently changes, update your regular weekly hours instead.
How to verify it worked
- The overridden date shows the expected availability on your public page.
- Clients cannot book during blocked dates.
- Custom hours are reflected accurately in the booking flow.
- Other dates continue to use your standard weekly schedule.
For full availability setup, see Availability windows.
Common mistakes
- Using overrides as a permanent schedule management strategy.
- Applying many one-off overrides instead of updating regular weekly hours.
- Forgetting to check what's blocked vs what's available for specific dates.
- Making changes without checking if existing confirmed bookings are affected.
