Custom domains
If clients already know your website address, you can give your InkWell page a familiar place within it. Every active subscription includes custom domain setup. You'll need to own the domain and have access to its settings, or ask the person who manages your website to help.
Choose your public address
Use one exact hostname, such as a booking subdomain on your existing website or a dedicated studio domain. A subdomain lets you keep your current website and give the InkWell page its own address.
Connecting a domain does not publish a hidden page, enable enquiries or turn on payments. Complete business verification and the other publishing checks in Studio first.
Connect your domain
- With billing-management access, open Settings → Custom domain in the Studio settings group.
- Enter the exact hostname in Domain, then choose Connect domain.
- Follow any Finish DNS verification instructions shown. Copy the listed record type, name and value into your domain provider's settings.
- Return to Studio and choose Check verification. Follow the displayed status until the domain is live.
- Use Open domain to check the page.
If Studio reports that domain setup is unavailable or verification details have not arrived, follow the displayed guidance or contact Support. Avoid guessing record values. Your domain provider can help you edit the records and check that the hostname points to InkWell.
If you haven't changed domain records before, you can ask the person who looks after your website to use the instructions shown in Studio. Keep your existing InkWell page address handy while you work through the connection.
Check the client journey
Open the connected address while signed out on a phone. Check the studio, artists, services and enquiry form. Send a clearly labelled practice enquiry and confirm it reaches Requests.
Keep your existing public InkWell link available while testing. Test the exact hostname you will share; do not assume other versions of the domain redirect automatically. This feature connects your public page, rather than changing the sender domain of client emails.
Change or remove the domain
Edit Domain and choose Save domain to change it. Complete the checks for the new hostname before promoting it. Remove domain removes the connection; update social links and printed materials you control.
All plans include custom domains, so changing artist capacity does not remove this feature. Public domain routing requires a current subscription covering your active artists and a published, verified studio page. If your subscription ends, you can still manage the saved domain privately; public routing resumes once the launch checks are met again.
